Pictures

Look closely, Emory has a black eye! It's almost gone and we have no idea how she got it, but it is there.

Emory has been asking for "bub-buls" constantly. She loves her bubble machine and gets very excited about them. She tries to catch them and loves to "pop pop pop".

Yes, she DOES know how to use a fork. However, she also knows how to play the "uh-oh" game (you know, see how many times Momma will pick it up when she drops it). I'm "Mean Mommy" and only give her a couple chances before the fork stays on the floor.

The tiny "big" girl.

See the tiny little baby, curled up in the corner of the "big girl" bed? That's my little baby girl, who climbs. She climbs EVERYTHING! She climbs big kid playground equipment, furniture and cribs. I literally caught her climbing over the crib rail, head first, Tuesday morning. We took the side off that afternoon and she's been happy ever since. Because she climbs everything, she now has nothing but a bed (and some pillows on the floor) in her room. We had to move everything else into the guest room. She does very well going to and staying in bed, I was very nervous that I would never get a full night's sleep again. Thankfully, she takes after both of her parents and loves to sleep.

Emory has also become very interested in dressing herself. I need to take a more recent picture because she can now get her shirt completely over her head and sometimes even get her arms in the sleeves. While I was brushing my teeth this morning Emory opened my bottom drawer and proceeded to put ALL of my swimsuits on, including the big straw sun hat. Granted she had her head through leg openings and shoulder straps, but they were all on her body. She was so proud of herself!

It amazes me how much Emory is accomplishing these days! She really is becoming an independent little girl. She asks to see Ri-yee and Me-yn every time I get on the computer. She loves watching videos, if you want her to learn your name, post a video. We watch Merrin's "big bed" countless times a day.

I will be posting updated pictures of our house very soon. :)

Three and a half years and FIVE houses later

I know, it has been FOREVER since my last post. I have noticed that no one is doing very well updating the blogs lately. We've been a little busy... BUYING A HOUSE!!!

You may remember a previous post and be thinking "Are you CRAZY?!" I think the answer is definitely "YES". When we moved out here we sold our SC house and decided to rent one because I was seven months pregnant and we didn't want to feel pressured to buy right away. I've been watching for something to come up in the specific neighborhood that we wanted and about two weeks ago, there it was. We saw it, we made an offer and we waited, and countered, then waited some more. After what feels like FOREVER we have a contract.

We have a lot of work to do in the coming months. I will keep you posted as we finish little projects. The previous owners started (and almost finished) a few projects that we'll have to work on. There will be lots of painting, a few flooring fixes and some landscaping. I will keep you posted...

FYI

I just thought that everyone needs to read this article. I found it on an allergy blog and thought that everyone needs this info, we're already avoiding peanuts. I'll post a real blog later, I promise.

Wee

Emory loves her new "side". The other night we had to fold it up and tell her that the slide went "night- night" just to get her to go to bed.

Hummus, oatmeal and turkey burgers.

What do hummus, oatmeal and turkey burgers have in common? These are the *new* foods that Emory willingly ate over the last week. Oatmeal and turkey aren't brand new to her diet, however, it has been a long time since she ate them so happily. Now, if only I could get her to eat Sunbutter...

Our fashionista's new wardrobe preference is a t-shirt, diaper and her giraffe print "boos". I have a feeling that they will be in at least every other post until she outgrows them. It isn't easy to convince her to wear anything else.
