San Diego

Eric and I had been talking about taking a little trip before LBG (vote on your favorite name)arrives and when Grammy called to ask if she could come visit we jumped at the opportunity to have a babysitter.
We decided on San Diego because I had never been and it isn't very far away. It is the place that just about everyone out here goes to for their beach getaway. However, even sunny southern California gets a little chilly and we were running out of time for me to travel comfortably. When looking for things to do I suggested that Eric play golf at Torrey Pines one day. For those of you that aren't familiar with the golf world, this is a pretty famous course. We also decided on the San Diego Zoo, which is HUGE and has some pretty amazing exhibits. Look at the baby panda! He (or she?) is as big at 6 months as Emory was at a year.We had a wonderful, relaxing trip and I think that Emory had just as much fun with Grammy. She loves to get spoiled by her grandparents just as much as they loving spoiling her.

The Haircut

Emory got her first haircut today. A few months ago we decided that it was about time for a haircut and then realized that it was almost long enough to donate. There are several places that accept donations but most require 10 inches. We made it to 9 inches and found the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. We just couldn't wait any longer!
We talked to Emory about how her new haircut would look like Cousin Jenna's and we looked at pictures of Cousins Kellen (who donated hers as well) and Merrin getting their haircut. She was very excited about going but was a little shy when we first got there. Miss Becky was WONDERFUL with Emory and let her sit in the Cars seat and watch a Disney Princess movie. She didn't even care that Emory didn't want to wear the "scary" cape. I think it also helped that Grammy went with us.
I don't think that the actual haircut bothered Emory one bit. I about had a heart attack with that first cut, but Emory was ready and expected it. She ended up with an adorable, SASSY bob. All evening she has just been shaking her head and she had lots of fun looking in the mirror.

Fashion Police

Emory was disappointed in this year's Oscar fashions because no one looked like a princess (everyone looked like a princess for the Grammys) and because Jennifer Lopez's dress was "broken". Better luck next year ladies.
