LBG's Nursery - Part 1

I shouldn't be showing you this, but here goes. This room has been sitting empty, kind of, since we moved in last year. We set up the crib when we moved in for a very special visitor and it has since been used for naps by the younger siblings of several of BBG's playmates. Otherwise, the room hasn't been touched except as a place for me to hide outgrown clothes and other (breakable)things that a two year old shouldn't have easy access to.

Thankfully, Eric recently overhauled the closets in this room and the guest room as well as adding more shelves in the garage. All of this stuff is slowly finding a new, more appropriate home.
I was planning on making this two different posts but seeing as how we are getting down to the wire, you get to see what else we've been up to. Here is my wonderful Craigslist find. I searched daily to find a dresser that was in good condition as well as the right size and style. Just when I was ready to give up and go to Ikea, I found it. The only problem was that it was a honey oak stain with firetruck drawer pulls. I was more than willing to paint it white to match the crib and it gave me the perfect excuse to use these. I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.
We were also able to get the room painted, which you will get to see a little better in a later post.

So much fun, and it looks like it is really shaping up! Score on the Craigslist find! I love Ikea for baby furniture and related items. They have an amazing crib for $200 that converts to a toddler bed that I have been spying. SOOO much more practical than the hundreds of dollars for a regular crib elsewhere!

Ha! Our crib converts to a toddler bed and we found it at a consignment store for $140. I don't like to buy brand new stuff unless I have to. Ikea is pretty cool but we've never actually bought any furniture from there.

WOW Laura, you are my hero! You make me tired just reading your post and I'm not pregnant!!! I'm amazed at all you've done while being pregnant, way to go! AND for future reference, we've bought one piece of furniture from IKEA and were very pleased with both the service and quality!!
